🏁Today's goal Add table to schema for user customizable labels/textfields

Having an actual job and an actual life kind of slows down the progress on side projects, but that's ok, they are side projects after all and $22.02 doesn't really make things much better when I made $7 on the stock market picking random stocks yesterday. It's definitely more about the mission (alternatives to software that don't involve large companies).

Continuing where I left off on features, this is kind of the roadmap for the next few days:

  1. Add customizable fields to sqlite
  2. Add those fields to the ui (easier said than done)
  3. Check out 1password's export file format
  4. Import 1password's special format into the special customizable field table
  5. Release a new version

It will be amazing if I can do all of that in 5 days! I doubt it though.

After that the steps will be

  1. Start ios app
  2. Add tab bar, uinavigation, uitableview
  3. Add detail view
  4. CRUD passwords, similar to macOS
  5. Add search to table view
  6. Look into auto LAN/bluetooth syncing between macOS/iOS
  7. Implement syncing
  8. Test quite a bit
  9. Update macOS app with syncing code
  10. Put the iOS app on product hunt
  11. Open source iOS app

From there I have two more ideas I'd like to pursue around March/April…

  • side project success free until 100 users $1/mo after that - a web app that is a public daily journal for your side projects, essentially what I've already been doing, but more automated
  • macOS apple music app for $0.99 - this one doesn't have to be open source so I can really hack the code together quickly)
